About Us

The Worship Well is a truly collaborative effort. Though it is spearheaded and run by Church Publishing Incorporated, we've drawn together a team made up of several groups within the Episcopal Church, including the Office of Liturgy and Music, Episcopal Church and Visual Arts, and the All Saints Company (linked with St. Gregory of Nyssa in San Francisco). We look forward to developing even more partnerships as The Well fills!

Church Publishing Incorporated:

Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI) was established in 1918 as the Church Hymnal Corporation by the Church Pension Fund to serve the needs of the Episcopal Church. Today, we produce prayer books, hymnals, and other official titles for the Church. In addition, we publish a wide array of works on liturgy, music, homiletics, church history, liturgical theology, Anglican spirituality, contemporary global Anglicanism, and emerging issues, as well as recorded music, and a growing list of software products and online services. Check the CPI website, including the entire catalogue of CPI products, at www.churchpublishing.org.

Office of Liturgy and Music:

Part of the Episcopal Church Center, the Office of Liturgy and Music tends the continuing development of worship resources for the Episcopal Church. Led by the Rev. Dr. Clayton L. Morris, Liturgical Officer, the department works closely with the Presiding Bishop's Office, the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music, and other church bodies, and helps to connect, educate, and inspire liturgists and musicians throughout the Church. See the office's website at www.episcopalchurch.org/liturgy_music.htm.

Episcopal Church and Visual Arts:

The Episcopal Church and Visual Arts (ECVA) is a non-profit organization that encourages artists, individuals, congregations, and scholars to engage the visual arts in the spiritual life of the church. Since its birth in 2000, ECVA has highlighted the significance of visual imagery in spiritual formation and the development of faith, and worked to create programs to support those who are engaged in using the visual arts in spiritual life. Look into the ECVA resource center at www.ecva.org for curated art exhibitions, liturgical materials, and the ECVA Registry of artists and others engaged in the visual arts in the Episcopal Church.

All Saints Company:

All Saints Company is a San Francisco-based foundation that supports liturgical development and education in partnership with St. Gregory of Nyssa parish church. Founded in 1978 as a mission to the urban unchurched, St. Gregory's lives by the motto "Worship for minds, hearts, and feet." Their innovative liturgical style draws on many sources, including the Book of Common Prayer, early Christian practice, Orthodox and Eastern liturgies, and music from around the world.
